HVAC Tips for Fall 2016
As the temperatures begin to cool off and kids start to swing into the school year, we know that fall is right around the corner. Fall is that time of year when the years is usually just right enough to work in and around your house comfortably – yet is a reminder that frigid weather is near. As we fall into the next season, here are three HVAC tips to keep in mind:
Clean your air filter
Cleaning your air filter should be a seasonal habit. To clean your filter, turn off the AC you’ve been using and remove the service panel cover. Inspect the filter. Clean with water and let it air dry. Replace the filter if needed and enjoy clean, fresh air once again!
Add a ceiling fan
Regardless of whether it’s hot or cold outside, ceiling fans can help circulate the air. If you’re making a list of home improvement projects to complete this fall, add “install ceiling fan” to the list! This will help you save energy on your electric bill and keep you feeling comfortable in your home.
Close off your fireplace
Pretty soon you’ll be using your fireplace on those chilly autumn and winter nights. So protect your home from a fire hazard by closing it off. Purchase a fireplace screen from your local home goods store and cover. In doing so, you’ll protect your wood floors, furniture, and other textiles.
